Artist Statement -
I knew early on that I wanted to be an artist of some kind. However after a one year scholarship to CCAD, I realized that I was not able to accomplish all the things with my hands that I thought I could see and imagine. Photography became the solution to this problem.
I read every photography book and magazine that I could find and taught myself to shoot, develop film, and print. An interest in fashion photography resulted in me working as head photographer for the Lazarus division of Federated Department stores and also for the Limited.
My personal work has covered a broad spectrum and photography became a way for me to capture and show the strong, beautiful, and moving things I saw everywhere around me.
